The Retail Soy Group model policy includes a route to Deforestation and Conversion Free supply chains through effective purchasing controls.
The benchmark (available here) provides a benchmark of major soy trader purchasing control systems against the criteria included in the Model Policy. It provides links directly to the source materials for each criteria if they are available in the public domain.
A top line categorisation is present in one of four designations:
- Exceeding - trader meets all expected criteria and has at least one area where they have gone beyond the minimum expectations of an effective purchasing control system.
- Aligned - trader meets all expected criteria for an effective purchasing control system.
- Mostly Aligned - trader technically meets all expected criteria for an effective purchasing control system, however one area has an approach that has known potential implementation deficiencies.
- Not Aligned - trader has one or more areas of their purchasing control system that are below the minimum expectations articulated in the Retail Soy Group model policy for being an effective purchasing control system.
The benchmark is a live document. It will be updated as new information is made available regarding the effectiveness of each trader's purchasing control system.
